PHP-Session-Variables

Cookie-Name: PHPSESSID

Our website uses session cookies to allow websites to link a user's actions during a browser session. These session cookies expire after one browser session and are therefore not stored for a longer period of time. For this reason, session cookies are sometimes considered less privacy-intrusive.

PHPSESSID is a cookie for PHP sessions. When you work with an application, you open it, make some changes, and then close it. This is similar to a session. The computer knows who you are. It knows when you start the application and when you close it. But on the Internet, the web server doesn't know who you are or what you're doing because the HTTP address doesn't maintain a state. A PHP session solves this problem by allowing you to store user information on the server for later use (e.g. username, purchase item, etc.). However, session information is temporary and is deleted after the user leaves the site. Sessions work by creating a unique identifier (UID) for each visitor and storing variables based on that UID. The UID is either stored in a cookie or is propagated in the URL.
